How many weeks were you when your babies nursery was completed?

When did you put your babies nursery bedding in their crib? Did you do it after they were home, a few weeks before... And around how many weeks was your babies nursery completed? As in you had nothing left to do in the room, it was all done and just waiting for baby... I'm 28 weeks and I could be done the nursery today if I wanted but I am waiting and doing things one at a time... So I was wondering when you put the crib bedding in the crib and how many weeks you were when the room was completed

I waited until after my shower to see what we would get. I was about 34 weeks when they had the shower for me. At about 35 weeks we had everything washed and put away bedding, curtains, bouncers, you name it we had it out and ready. Right after the shower I started to freak out that nothing was going to be ready for baby.So i begged my husband to help me get things ready immediately LOL he grumbled be he helped and my mom and grandma helped get things ready also.

Effective Steps in Treating Acid Reflux in Baby

If you're suspecting acid reflux in baby, be aware that the condition doesn't just occur in older children and adults. Any suspicion of stomach related problems in your baby should be screened and diagnosed by a healthcare specialist. Babies suffering from acid reflux will show just about the same symptoms as adult sufferers. However, it can be more challenging to treat babies since they don't tend to follow certain methods all the time and may need more assistance. Take the steps in this article to effectively treat your baby.

Step 1: Watch Out For Symptoms

Some of the most common signs of acid reflux in your baby could be coughing, spitting, vomiting, and bloody stool. You may also notice that your baby is irritable and feeding poorly. A lot of babies actually experience these symptoms in the first 3 months.

However, some babies will experience more severe symptoms that may last from 12 to 18 months. Few babies have acid reflux due to other complications. After an analysis of your baby's symptoms and a thorough physical exam, your doctor can right away inform you if your baby has acid reflux. These include lab tests, esophageal pH monitoring, upper GI series, and upper endoscopy.

Step 3: Follow Recommended Treatment

Your doctor can recommend many types of treatments. You may be advised to continue breastfeeding to reduce symptoms of acid reflux in baby. You may also be asked to feed your baby smaller amounts and more frequently, as overfeeding tends to worsen the condition. You may also try thickening the baby formula and see if there is any improvement in the next 3 to 5 days, otherwise stop.

Step 4: Maintain Your Baby's Health

Acid reflux in infants deals with preventive measures. Because acid reflux mainly involves stomach acid and enzymes, the condition can always come back if you don't maintain your baby's overall health. Always try to relax your baby by feeding it in a quiet place, keeping pressure away from its abdomen, and not allowing it to do vigorous activities or sit in upright positions after feeding.

Continue feeding your baby with small portions only but frequently. Also burp your baby during and after feeding. This way, you can free the air accumulating in your baby's stomach and therefore reduce discomfort. Ditch the old baby bottle for a new one if the hole in its nipple is too large. Make sure that the hole is just the right size so that milk will not flow too fast. It shouldn't also be so small that your baby will become frustrated and swallow more air. Finally, let your baby sleep with some elevation under its back (about 30 degrees).

Taking preventive measures after treatment can get rid of acid reflux in baby for good. Just make sure that your doctor is informed about the methods you're doing at home so he or she can monitor any improvement in your child and advise when treatment should stop.

Does anyone think its a bad idea to get another lab before my baby comes?

I already have a one year old lab and he is the best but since i found out i was pregnant he has been attached to my hip and my breeder offered me another dog. They said it will help keep my other dog more occupied and not bored while im taking care of my child. i would get the dog before xmas and my baby is due in july. Opinions please!!!!!

:You should get another breeder because she doesn't seem to know much about animal behavior. Your dog is acting jealous and yes it will be a problem when your baby arrives. Dogs are used to living in a hierarchy and when the baby arrives that dog will be displaced by the baby. You have a smart dog and it knows what's about to happen. The answer is most definetly not to throw another unknown into the mix. Besides the extra work a second dog brings, you do not know how your dog is going to react to another dog and when your baby arrives your going to have 2 problems not one.

What you need to do is talk to a trainer and behaviorist, not somebody trying to sell you another dog (and at X-mas no less, no legitimate breeder will sell a dog during the holiday season). They can suggest situation exercises that will prepare your dog for the arrival of the baby that will create a lot less stress in your life. The preparation (with one dog) should begin now if you want to avoid problems.
