What bedding is safe for a newborn baby?
Hello everyone, i was wondering if i could get some advice. Im currently looking for bedding to a cot bed ready for the arrival of my baby. The problem is im getting so confused what is and what isn't considered safe? i was thinking bumper which is fine and the obviously i would need a flat sheet to cover the mattress but here is the tricky part......what else do i need? i was looking at the slightly quilted coverlets? these say safe from newborn but yet some then other thin quilted bed spreads that are very similar say only from 12 month? why is this when to me they feel almost identical? i am thinking of using a "dreampod" type sleeping bag/grow bag and therefore i am aware the baby doesn't need to be under any sheets etc but cant get my head around what i can i can put on the mattress that it is safe for the baby to lie on! sorry if i sound totally clueless but i really don't know as this is my first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks x
just a fitted sheet and a matress protector pad under the sheet... everything else is unneeded at first...
eventually I put bumpers on when my son started to stand so his legs didn't go between the bars
dress baby in warm footie pjs and you don't really need a blanket but a "grow bag" is good to as long as it is the appropriate size
