Are the mattresses sold by Pottery Barn Kids good quality?

Im looking specifically at the pillow top mattress but I am interested in anyone's experience with any of the mattresses sold by Pottery Barn Kids. Thanks!

It's a hefty price to pay, but I know people love 'em. Note that they are manufactured by Serta - and you can get Serta mattresses in a LOT of places, not just PBK. So shop around for a better price on the same product.

Horse cribbing problem?

My mare at my other barn has been cribbing lately and she wears a cribbing bit and her vet check-up was a week ago she has been doing this for 3 weeks now and i dont knw what to do the vet couldnt find anything wrong wiht her but says she will get sick if she continues to crib what can i do has anyone else had a horse like this?

I have a gelding that cribs. He's done it his whole life. The vet say's he's fine. I use a cribbing collar and it does stop the problem, but eventually they get used to the pressure and start again and then you have to tighten it and then they get used to it again... it sucks. They do work if get the right one, the one i use is called a miracle collar i think. Use it right and it will work. But it only stop air sucking, not chewing.
Cribbing is NOT as bad for a horse as people think. The two dangerous parts of it are:
1. If they horse does it too much, they can wear down their teeth and then they can't eat--- but that takes a LONG time and a LOT of cribbing.
2. If by some chance they inhale or swallow a piece of wood, it can cut their insides.

but other than that it's no big deal, it's just something they do out of boredom and then it becomes habit.

I plan on moving my horse soon, and when i do, i'm going to stop using the collar and start just using a grazing muzzle because they're safer and MUCH more effective.

How do you know when it is time to move your little one from crib to big kid bed?

My daughter is 17 months now, and I can tell she is not yet ready to be in a big bed yet, but we are preparing to have another one in August and were hoping to be able to move her into a twin bed once the new one will start sleeping in a crib (she will be about 2 at that time). She is not climbing out of the crib or anything right now, not even close, she is very good about sleeping in her crib, and I don't want to ruin her sleep or mess up her routine. I figured there were signs that will tell us she is ready for a bigger bed, just didn't know what they were. Thanks!

Some kids will give you obvious clues - attempting to climb out of the crib, expressed interest in a big bed - but most probably do not. There's no harm in attempting a switch even if your child hasn't initiated it; my daughter got a twin bed at 18 months, and we just started with the mattress and box springs on the floor. She rolled off the first night (not far, and onto pillows) but has been fine in it ever since. Now, at 24 months, she sleeps in a regular bed and seems to love it.

If you try it with your daughter and she resists or it interferes with her sleep, there's also nothing wrong with going back to the crib for a while. Even if she balks at the transition until after her little brother or sister is born, newborns typically do best in a bassinet or cradle in Mom & Dad's room for the first few months anyway (recommended by the AAP, and could save you the cost of a second crib!) Just try and make her transition before the baby is ready for a crib so she won't feel displaced.

In nice blues or yellows (unisex). I can't seem to find any nice ones. I would have though there would be heaps of birds.

How much should I charge per hour for product illustration?

So I was pretty interested in freelancing for this baby product company. I sent her my samples and she liked them very much. She asked how do I usually work-by flat fee by project or by hour.

It's tricky. Like with all freelance work, you have to give a price that's coherent with the market, or you'll be either out of the picture or screwed over and paid far too little.

If you have contacts with people who do the same job, ask them how much they charge. That sort of thing can vary wildly from a country to another.
